3 EASY WAYS TO USE VITAL PROTEINS

Maybe you have finally taken my advice to start incorporating Vital Proteins into your daily routine because of its many benefits. Or maybe you just bought it so that I would stop shoving Vital Proteins stick packs into your face every time I see you. Either way, if you're reading this, you've probably purchased a canister of Vital Protein collagen peptides or one of their other products, and now you're home with it and much like with a newborn baby you're thinking "what the heck am I supposed to do with this thing!" But unlike newborn baby, Vital Proteins won't leave you sleep deprived.

In fact, high quality collagen peptides are shown to aid in getting deeper sleep along with many other health benefits such as:

  • Glowing skin**
  • A more youthful appearance**
  • Joint health**
  • Tendon & bone strength**
  • Healthy cartilage**
  • Increased athletic performance**
  • Improved digestion**
  • Gut health**

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body and is a key constituent of all connective tissues. Collagen provides the infrastructure of the musculoskeletal system, essential for mobility. Having added Vital Proteins products into my daily routing for 3 months now, I can attest to all of the above benefits including noticeable relief of osteoarthritis in both knees, and also thicker hair and stronger nails! Even my dad (aka typical clueless guy) asked me if my hair was getting thicker. In my opinion, this product is the fountain of youth, and I now recommend its use to everyone.

If you are wondering about how to incorporate Vital Proteins into your diet, I have 3 easy and delicious ways that I myself like to ingest it, although you don't have to use these recipes exactly. Vital Proteins is soluble which means it will dissolve easily in liquids, smoothies, yogurt, and soups. You can also bake it into baked goods for an added protein boost!

I also found this page on the Root & Revel site very informative, so I wanted to include this also.

1. COLLAGEN COOKIES:

My baking secret weapon? Add 2-4 scoops of Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides to any recipes for a gut-healthy protein boost! These are the Slow Cooker Paleo Chocolate Chip Cookies off of the Faith Food Fit blog. I make a batch every week! Just note that I cut the coconut sugar in half (to 1/2C), and I use Lily's dark chocolate chips since they have no sugar. Mmmmm, don't those look good?!

Try Vital Proteins Collagen Beauty Greens in a hot or iced matcha latte. I drink a matcha latte every single morning.

- 1 scoop of Vital Proteins Collagen Beauty Greens

- 1C steamed or warmed non-dairy milk (I love Forager Project and MALK).

- 1tsp good quality matcha powder. My favorite matcha powder is The Matcha Reserve.

- (optional) 1tsp Moondeli Golden Turmeric. Use my code RHMOON15 for 15% off site-wide!

- optional 1T My Natural Force Vanilla MCT Oil

Combine all ingredients in a mug and whisk briskly. If you want to drink it over ice, just set it aside until it's at room temperature, and then pour into a glass filled with ice. This is an incredibly refreshing and energizing treat, with the antioxidant powers of matcha!

PINA COLADA BREAKFAST SMOOTHIE:

Could eat this smoothie for dayyyyyyyyyyys.

Note: I recommend use of a high-powered blender like this one to ensure a smooth, chunk-free smoothie consistency. And of course, Vitamix is the absolute best you can buy.

- 2 scoops of Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides

- 1/2C frozen pineapple chunks

- 1C frozen cauliflower (I buy Trader Joe's riced cauliflower and freeze in a ziploc)

- 1/4C no/low sugar coconut yogurt (CoYo is my favorite for taste and texture but So Delicious is easier to find)

- 1tsp maca powder

- 2T organic psyllium husk

- 1T chia seeds (I use white for aesthetics, but nutritionally black are the same)

- 1T unsweetened coconut flakes or shreds

- 1T My Natural Force vanilla MCT oil

- Water as needed

Blend all of the ingredients, adding water only as needed. For a thinner smoothie that you can drink with a straw, just add more water!
